1. What do I need to do to prepare for the internal fly and/or spider treatment?

We do ask customers to make some basic preparations to ensure your safety and to assist with the treatment process;

1. Put away or cover all food and clean dishes.
2. Put away towels, toothbrushes and toilet paper.
3. Put away any precious items that may be knocked over.
4. Cover or put away pet food and water bowls.
5. Cover fish tanks and turn off the filter.
6. Cover the head end of the bed and put away all pillows. Cover cots.
7. Cover lounge furniture (couches, chairs, pillows).
8. Ensure dogs are secured while the technician is on-site.

1.1 Additional requirement for spider treatments;

1. Do not remove webs.

1.2 What do I need to do to prepare for the flea treatment?

1. IMPORTANT. Remove small items from the floor and underneath beds. The more floor space we cover, the better the treatment.
2. If you are getting bitten in bed, strip the bed and hot wash the sheets.
3. Vacuum carpets throughly (optional). If so, seal and discard the contents of the vacuum bag.
4. Cover or put away pet food and water bowls.
5. Cover fish tanks and turn off the filter.
6. All other preparations for a fly/spider treatment are not required.

2. How long do I have to be away from the house?

1. For any internal treatments you must vacate the house for a minimum of 4.5 hours from the time we arrive.
2. For external treatments you are able to stay at home if you remain inside and close all doors and windows.

3. Do I have to do anything when I return?

1. For indoor fly and/or spider treatments please ensure you;
- Open up doors and windows and remain outside for 15 mins to ensure residual odours air out.
- Wipe down food preparation surfaces, tables, bathroom bench tops and door handles immediately upon re-entering.
2. For flea treatments;
- Please wear socks or slippers for 24 hours and ensure children play on blankets. This is to avoid prolonged contact with any remaining dampness in the deep pile of the carpets.
3. For external spider treatments, leave spider webs in place for 5 days before removing.

4. Are the treatments safe for pregnancy/children/babies and pets?

Most treatments use synthetic pyrethroids (which are based on natural pyrethrums). The products we use have been proven safe in sensitive situations over a number of decades. All treatments are professionally applied and are at a level that won't effect mammals and are readily metabolised (i.e. if you do come into contact with the treatment it will pass straight through you and not build up in your body).

5. Is there one treatment that will take care of all pests?

No. Treatments are most effective if they are tailored to the type of pest. If you're looking for a general preventative maintenance treatment we recommend a General Pest Control treatment.

6. How do I pay?

We accept cash, cheque, EFTPoS or Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard). We also offer internet banking by prior arrangement. All invoices are subject to Bug King Ltd's Terms of Trade.

Please note the cancellation policy as detailed in our Terms of Trade.
1. Cancellation of a booking on the day of appointment will incur a $100.00 + GST booking fee.
2. Cancellation of a booking made the day prior to appointment but within 24 hours will incur a $50.00 + GST booking fee.
3. No fees are charged for booking cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice.
